meet Susan

Susan Ipri-Brown, Principal Consultant at Empowerment Levers, focuses on engineering design in leadership and strategic planning, specializing in STEM program implementation for professional societies and nonprofits.

She is a dedicated leader in promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and access within the engineering profession, having served as the 143rd president and a Fellow of ASME, where she held various leadership roles.

Her career includes roles as Strategic Initiatives Manager at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and founding Associate Dean for Educational Outreach and Associate Professor of Engineering Instruction at Hope College. She also worked with Northwestern University's Office of STEM Education Partnerships, North Carolina school districts, Delphi Automotive Systems, the Michigan Legislative Service Bureau, and as an ASME Fellow at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Susan holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from MIT and a bachelor's degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University.
